About

"Our mission is to provide innovative processing solutions to maximize the amount of information that our customers can extract from their airborne geophysical data"

Minty Geophysics is a geophysical consultancy specializing in the enhancement of airborne geophysical data.  We specialize in the optimum processing of multichannel airborne gamma-ray spectrometric data to reduce noise and enhance radioelement anomaly detection.

We also offer a range of geophysical consulting services to the mineral exploration and environmental mapping community. These include geophysical survey design, survey monitoring, quality control, data processing and interpretation.

Brian Minty

Brian Minty holds degrees from Rhodes University (BSc),  the University of the Witwatersrand (BSc Hons), Pretoria University (MSc - Cum Laude), and the Australian National University (PhD). Early in his career he worked on airborne surveys targeting uranium, and it was during this period that he developed a life-long interest in airborne geophysics and, in particular, the gamma-ray spectrometric method.

He has published techniques for mapping cesium fallout, the micro-levelling of airborne data, the estimation of atmospheric radon background, the multichannel processing of airborne radiometric data, and a methodology for the automatic merging of airborne geophysical grids.

He has also undertaken a number of training consultancies in the field of airborne magnetics and gamma-ray spectrometry, and represented Australia on International Atomic Energy Agency consultancies looking at the standardization of acquisition, calibration and data processing procedures for gamma-ray spectrometry.
